Nice, the capital of the French Riviera

Nice is an ancient city, rich with its 2300 years of history, from the Greek colony Nikeia, named after the Goddess of victory Nike, through the roman city of Cemenelum (nowadays Cimiez), the subsequently Italian and French province which was handed over to France in 1860, following to an agreement between Napoleon III and Victor-Emmanuel II, King of Sardinia, to the Belle Epoque winter holyday,s capital of the European aristocracy (queen Victoria, the Russian tsar) trough the early 20th Century, when Nice was the exclusive winter playground of the rich and famous to nowadays modern city, with ca 350 000 inhabitants, capital of the French Riviera.  You can enjoy here history, culture, nature, combined in the famous French "savoir vivre" life style.
